How do I join Brentwood Fire Department?

Come down to the station, talk to us, and fill out an application. However, to be able to fight fires or do ambulance work you need to be certified. This will take 3 to 4 months of classes and training. If interested, come join us!!

What can't I burn?

All burning must be conducted in accordance with state laws, state rules, local ordinances and under a "Permit to Kindle Fire" issued by the local Fire Warden or authorized agent.


Materials Not Acceptable for Burning:

  • Construction & demolition debris
  • Tire
  • Household trash
  • Packaging materials
  • Plastics
  • Coated or laminated paper
  • Coated or treated cardboard
  • Oily rags
  • Animal, vegetable and kitchen waste
  • Used Oil, gasoline and hazardous waste
  • Brush greater than 5 inches in diameter
  • Any wood that has been painted/stained, glued, or treated in any way

  • Campfire wood
  • Charcoal
  • Clean pallets

If generated on-site

  • Brush (less than 5 inches in diameter)
  • Clean lumber scraps (private single family residences only)

How and where do I get a burn permit?

If you wish to obtain a burn permit call the fire station at 642-8132 prior to 4:30 PM on the day you wish to burn. If no one is available leave a message in the burn permit mailbox, #6. Leave your name, address and a phone number. A Deputy Warden should return your call shortly after 5 PM.
